For Beethoven, 1803 was among his most fruitful years of composition. This concert features two of his most celebrated works, the “Kreutzer” Violin Sonata, and the “Eroica” Symphony, which were composed within months of each other. This program also offers a rare opportunity to experience the beloved “Eroica” in its seldom heard Piano Quartet arrangement.  Composed by his pupil, friend, and secretary, Ferdinand Ries, the work stands as a masterful representation of the symphony’s power, regardless of instrumentation.
